    Gary Davis Hart has spent his entire adult life in prison, but he inched away from the ultimate capital punishment. A Supreme Court later ruled that the death penalty was unconstitutional and changed his sentence to life in prison without possibility of parole.

    Napoleon Beazley was executed by the state of Texas, but he lives again in a new play. He was executed in the death chamber at Huntsville, Texas. He was 25 years old, but he looked at least a decade older.

    Two young women went missing in 1991 after visiting an abandoned bridge in St. Louis, a hangout for local teens, with their cousin. Reggie Clemons and three others who had no connection to the young women were subsequently convicted of the murders.

    T. J. Jones welcomed his execution. He refused to contest it or file for clemency, though he had good cause. He was 17 when he shot Willard Davis. Texas does not spare children the death penalty. But there were other issues. His adult body harbored an adolescent.

  • Beunka Adams

    Beunka Adams, 29, was executed by lethal injection on 26 April 2012 in Huntsville, Texas for the murder of a man in the course of abduction, rape, and robbery. Under Texas law, a jury can find a defendant guilty of capital murder for participating in the crime, regardless of whether he personally inflicted the fatal injury.

    Cameron Todd Willingham was wrongfully executed by the State of Texas on February 17, 2004. He had been convicted and sentenced to death for setting a fire to his Corsicana home in 1991 that killed his three young daughters.

  • Charles Don Flores

    In a case fraught with all the hallmarks of a wrongful conviction, Charles has maintained his innocence and  been denied a new trial. He was convicted and sentenced to death in Dallas County in 1999 for the 1998, shooting death and attempted robbery of Betty Black, in Farmers Branch, Texas.

  • Hank Skinner

    Case Type - Male


    Accused of a triple homicide which happened at his residence in Pampa, Texas, Hank Skinner was arrested in January 1994; tried and sentenced to death in March 1995. When the guilty verdict was passed, he suffered a fatal injury in every sense of the phrase – his name was tarnished with a murder he could not possibly have committed.

  • Jack Alderman

    Case Type - Male


    Jack Alderman was sentenced to death

    in June 1975 for the murder of his wife, Barbara Jean Alderman, which had taken place nine months earlier. He has been on death row for more than 30 years. He was 22 years old at the time of the crime. He had consistently maintained his innocence of the murder.

  • Jarvis (Jay) Masters

    Jarvis Masters arrived in San Quentin in 1981 at age 19, convicted of armed robbery. Four years later, in 1985, officer Sergeant Howell “Dean” Burchfield was murdered within the prison walls, stabbed to death at night on the second tier of a cell block. At the time, Jarvis was locked in his cell on the fourth tier.

  • Kenneth Foster

    Kenneth Foster was unjustly sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Nov. 15 in the small rural East Texas town of New Boston. He was wrongfully convicted of the murder of another prisoner, Anthony Dominguez, at the Telford Unit prison in 2021 in that town.  New Boston, Texas.

    On top of considerable evidence supporting Will's innocence and the important errors in the trial court, there must also be addressed the absence of eyewitness testimony or strongly probative forensic evidence ... only circumstancial evidence supports Will's conviction and death sentence.

    Rodney Reed, who maintains his innocence, has been on death row for more than 22 years for the murder of Stacey Stites in Bastrop, Texas. Since his in 1998 trial, substantial evidence exonerates Rodney and implicates Stacey’s then-fiancé Jimmy Fennell, a former local police officer.

    Three US men who say they were falsely convicted of murdering three boys have been freed after 18 years in prison. Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley were convicted in 1994, but new DNA evidence raised doubts.The so-called West Memphis Three were backed by celebrities who had raised money for their case.

  • Tony Egbuna Ford

    Tony Ford is residing on Death Row in Texas awaiting execution. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals denied his appeal. One of the issues in the appeal was denial of funds to hire Professor Malpass to testify as an expert concerning the eyewitness identification issues in the case.

  • Troy Anthony Davis

    In September 2011, the state of Georgia ended Troy Anthony Davis’ life with a lethal injection. Davis was executed for the murder of a police officer, a crime he always maintained he did not commit. In the months before his execution, people around the country urged Georgia to reconsider in light of the serious doubts about his guilt.
