We are pleased to announce that the sixth round of National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund grants will open on 7 November 2022.
The Family Fund are also administering the new UFFC Legacy Fund, which is earmarked for the child dependents of custody death victims and their families.
Important: Affected families and/or campaigns will need to be registered on the NMPMFF website before applying for grants from the fund – various assessment partners are available to assist with applications.
This Memorial Family Fund grants round will open on Monday, 7 November 2022 and it will close on Wednesday, 7 December 2022.
The main difference in this sixth round (compared to earlier ones) is that grants will not generally be awarded/issued on a rolling basis, but rather final decisions will be made after the closing date on 7 December 2022.
The exception to the above will be if it is confirmed by an Assessment Partner that the need is significantly urgent, or if a Crisis Fund is deemed to be more appropriate.
Sixth Round Family Fund Allocation:
The NMPMFF have set aside £3,400.00 to be distributed to applicants that meet the criteria for grants. However, where deemed appropriate, some applicants may be advised to apply for the fast-track support via the Crisis Family Fund for emergency needs.
What Family Fund applicants need to do?
It is very important that applicants follow the advice provided in the Family Fund Quick Guide, to ensure that they are both eligible and ready to complete an application:

Mikey’s cousin, Tippa Naphtali said;
“This fund is already making a real and practical difference for families and their campaign groups that need financial support during the often long and drawn out struggles for justice that can last for decades.
“The needs of affected families and children can often get lost in the equally important work of campaigning and lobbying of state institutions. We want to change that with a permanent national support fund set up specifically for their needs.“
