Birmingham-based Enterprise, Let’s Go Wellbeing (LGW), featured the National Family Fund as the beneficiary of all proceeds from one of their fitness programmes launch events held on 29 June 2020.
The virtual rooftop workout (against the backdrop of the iconic Birmingham skyline featuring a live DJ set) also enjoyed an audience with special guests (and cousins of Mikey Powell) Benjamin Zephaniah (renowned poet, writer and activist) and Tru Powell (Birmingham-based award winning entrepreneur).
Let’s Go Wellbeing founder and event organiser, Matt Balfour, kindly provided us with the following summary of the launch session.
“Firstly I would like to personally thank Tippa Naphtali for his commitment to helping make this event a success despite reduced timescales and an already busy schedule.
“The feedback I have received has been largely positive, “informative” seems to be the word most commonly used to describe the event. If anything the only negative feedback was that “it was so good and so relevant” that people were annoyed that so many missed the opportunity to take part.
“In summary I am proud to have been able to associate Let’s Go Wellbeing with the National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund and help to inspire fresh perspective on what is unfortunately a historical and on-going topic.
“I think with more lead time we could definitely replicate the event on a much larger scale.”
The National Family Fund thanks Let’s Go Wellbeing for their kind efforts, and looks forward to working with Matt and his colleagues again in the not too distant future.
