We are very grateful to Birmingham based Enterprise, Let’s Go Wellbeing (LGW), for dedicating all proceeds from one of their fitness programmes launch events to support families affected by deaths in custody in the United Kingdom.
“In association and support of the National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund, join us for what will be an “epic” virtual rooftop workout against the backdrop of the iconic Birmingham skyline. Also featuring a live DJ set and audience with special guests Tru Powell and Benjamin Zephaniah.”
All proceeds from the event will go towards the family fund, which has been set up with the sole purpose of providing practical aid to the families of those who have had relatives die while in custody. This includes Asylum, Police, and Mental Health institutions.
The fund helps recently bereaved families across the UK with a range of activities including but not limited to funeral costs, guidance, support, solicitors fees, campaign work, as well as the cost of counseling the children left behind.
Matt Balfour, founder of LGW, said; “On Monday, June 29th at 6pm, let’s sweat for the families of Mikey Powell, George Floyd, and others that have been killed whilst in custody.”
