BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!
Day One; Will explore and examine the impact that institutional racism plays in the every day lives of young Black & Brown children, youths and adults. The conference will highlight the fact that almost 2 decades after the McPherson report, into the murder of Stephen Lawrence identified institutional racism within the Metropolitan Police Force, that it is still very much alive and kicking today.
More worryingly the conference will be asking the question “Are public institutions colluding with the police to target Black and Brown communities; and is this fuelling the serious youth violence that we are witnessing?”
Day Two; The conference, with the help of friends from Derry, Hillsborough and Grenfell, and with the assistance of a couple of police officers who turned ‘whistleblowers’; will look at the notion of justice as defined and allowed by the state, to see whether this is justice at all.
Day two will end with a call to action, a call to unite and fight injustice in its many shapes and forms.
The keynote speaker will be David Lammy MP who is MP for Tottenham and the author of The Lammy Review.
