The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has dropped charges for the second time against five police officers involved in the arrest of Sean Rigg. His family have called the decision “shameful”. Yet Rigg’s death is one of over 1,000 that remain unprosecuted.

A white former South Carolina police officer was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a federal judge on Thursday for the shooting death of an unarmed black motorist, an unusually severe sentence for a police shooting.
