Party-goer Adrian McDonald died in the back of a police van after being Tasered by an officer and bitten twice by a police dog, a tribunal heard.
Police deployed the dog and used the Taser after ‘wide-eyed’ Adrian had barricaded himself inside a Chesterton flat following a 999 call.
The 34-year-old was bitten on his right arm and leg and Tasered before being handcuffed and taken to a police van outside the Audley Road property in December, 2014.
But Adrian, who lived in Stoke-on-Trent, started pleading for water and complaining he could not breathe before suffering a cardiac arrest and dying in the van.
A medical expert has ruled Adrian would still have died even if he had received medical assistance from the officers.
