Liam HoldenAt aged 19 Liam Holden became the last person in the United Kingdom to be handed the death penalty, death by hanging. His trial and sentence occurred due to the murder of a soldier, Private Frank Bell, who was shot in the head during a routine patrol in Springfield Avenue, West Belfast.

Sarah ReedSarah, aged 32, from London, was found dead in her Holloway Prison cell on 11 February 2016. She suffered from severe mental health issues ever since the sudden death of her newborn baby in September 2003. After her child died she never recovered from it say her family.
Sharmila UllahOn 9 July 2014, 30-year-old Sharmila Ullah, a mother of four, was arrested by police and taken to Bloxwich Police Station. Police had arrested her on suspicion of shoplifting. While in police custody she was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital when she became unwell.
Shaun BeasleyOn 24 August 2010, 29-year-old Shaun Beasley was found hanged in his cell. Two private companies with lucrative prison and police contracts across Britain have been criticised by a jury for the role they played in the suicide of a vulnerable inmate with mental health problems.

Carlos DeLunaOn the 7 December 1989 Carlos DeLuna was executed by Texas via lethal injection. Throughout his time in prison he, and many others, continuously protested his innocence. Years after his death, it was finally proven that Carlos was in fact innocent of the crime that he had died for.
James BoydA 38-year-old mentally ill homeless man, James Boyd was shot, and subsequently died after a heated 4-hour standoff with Albuquerque police on 16 March 2014. Video footage shows officers Dominique Perez and Keith Sandy using flash bang grenades and a K9 dog team to aid them.
Jeremy MardisBody camera footage shows that, Chris Few, the father of a six-year-old autistic boy, Jeremy Mardis, was attempting to surrender before police opened fire, killing his son, a lawyer has said. The young boy was killed by police gunfire, whilst his father was left seriously injured.
