Cheryl JamesCheryl James, aged 18 was a young solider at Deepcut Barracks; surrey. In November 1995 she was found with a fatal bullet wound to her head. Cheryl had become yet another squaddie to die at the army training camp, over a seven year period. Privates Sean Benton aged 20, James Collinson aged 17, and Geoff Gray aged 17, also died from gunshot wounds at the barracks between 1995 and 2002.
Adnan Rafiq22 year old Adnan Rafiq, an inmate from Moseley, Birmingham, died after he was fatally beaten. The young man died in HMP Herell in January 2013 after the assault by a fellow inmate in the prison near Redditch. Adnan had suffered from multiple injuries such as skull fracture when he was punched kicked and had his head stepped on.

Christopher Tappin66 year old British Christopher Tappin, a retired businessman, was jailed by a court in the US after agreeing to a plea deal to one count of aiding and abetting the illegal export of defence articles. His plea deal meant that he would plead guilty to the one count of aiding and abetting the illegal export of defence articles with the American prosecutors in which they agreed to not oppose his request to serve part of his sentence in Britain.
James BestJames Best aged 37, died in his cell at Wandsworth Prison, South London on 8 September 2011 just weeks after being arrested for stealing gingerbread from a looted bakery during the 2011 riots. He collapsed in his sell due to a fatal heart attack and was pronounced dead by a prison officer before an on-site nurse attended the scene.
Joanne LathamJoanne Latham, 38, was found dead inside her cell at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes on Friday 27 November. Joanne was a transgender woman being held in an all-male high security prison. According to reports, Joanne who had recently changed her name from Edward Latham, was being held on a Close Supervision Centre and was receiving regular 30 minute checks.
Sheku BayohSheku Bayoh , an ordinary family man, was left dead by police who are meant to be “protecting us” said supporters. On 3 May the 31 year old gas engineer had been restrained, handcuffed and batons were used on him after police had been called following reports of a man having a knife and behaving unusually. Eye witnesses also claimed that officers were kneeling or lying on Sheku despite having handcuffed him to the ground.

Tanisha AndersonTanisha Anderson, 37 years old, tragically died on the night of the 12 November 2014. Tanisha, from Cleveland, Ohio had been diagnosed in her early 20’s with bipolar disorder. She was prescribed medication for this and schizophrenia. On the day of Tanisha’s death, she was described as having a “bad day” by her younger sister Jenifer.
Zachary HammondOn 26 July 2015, Zachary Hammond a 19 year old teenager was shot by police officer Mark Tiller of Seneca Police in South Carolina. Police believed Zachary was driving the vehicle towards the officer and tried killing him. However the court has cleared the officer despite it being obvious to many commentators that he was murdered.
