Adults on Death Row:
Hank Skinner
Most of us believe in the principle of justice, even though we all may have differing views regarding what is and what is not just punishment. But what happens when an individual is sentenced for a crime – found guilty by a jury of his or her peers despite the existence of overwhelming evidence to the contrary?
Jack Alderman
Reprieve is deeply saddened by the execution of Jack Alderman. He was the longest serving death row prisoner in the United States, and had been on Georgia’s death row for over 33 years.
Jimmy Dennis
As of September 1, 2008, Jimmy Dennis has been stolen from his family for a total of 6,129 days for a crime he didn’t commit.
John Alba
John has been accused of the fatal shooting of his wife Wendy; a crime in which the judge refused to allow the defence theory to be heard by the jury.
Kenny Richey
In June 1986, Kenny was arrested for a crime the evidence shows was not a crime at all. Since his conviction some months later, he has been sitting on death row, waiting to be strapped into ‘Old Sparky.’
Kenneth Foster
A San Antonio judge overturned the death sentence of Kenneth Foster in March 2005. He was convicted as the getaway driver in the 1996 murder of Michael LaHood Jr.
Robert Will
Robert Will was not the first person wrongfully sentenced to death, nor will he be the last.
Rodney Reed
Rodney Reed has been on Texas death row since 1998 for a crime that he insists he didn’t commit. Lawyers for Rodney Reed have argued before the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals that he didn’t get a fair trial.
Samar Saed Abdullah
Sitting on Iraq’s death row is a 25-year-old woman convicted in the slayings of three relatives. She says her husband carried out the killings and fled. She confessed to being an accomplice, she says, only after being tortured in police custody.
Timothy Charles Davis
Court and prison records describe Timothy Davis as a passive and non-violent person with no prior criminal record. Convicted at the age of 17, he has spent over 28 years on Alabama’s Death row.
Tony Egbuna Ford
Tony Egbuna Ford has been incarcerated on Death Row in the State of Texas for 14 years based upon flimsy and inappropriately tested evidence.
Tony Medina
“We need your voices, your hands, whatever you have to offer the struggle, we need you if we are to win”
Troy Davis
On 26th September 2006 three judges made their ruling and denied an appeal despite seven key witnesses recanting their testimony. There is evidence that Troy did not receive a fair trial. Troy was executed in 2011.
