Die Verenigde Gesinne & Vriende veldtog (UFFC) calls for an independent judicial inquiry into all suspicious deaths in custody.

Die Verenigde Gesinne & Vriende veldtog (UFFC) is a coalition of families and friends of those that have died in the custody of police and prison officers as well as those who died while detained under the Mental Health Act, in psychiatric and immigration detention. It also has members and supporters from campaign groups and advocacy organisations from across the UK.

Die Independent Advisory Panel on Deaths in Custody report published in 2011 state: in totaal, was daar 5,998 sterftes aangeteken vir die 11 jaar vanaf 2000 aan 2010. Dit is 'n gemiddeld van 545 sterftes per jaar. Ten spyte van die feit daar is 11 onwettige moord uitspraak sedert 1990 daar was nog nooit 'n suksesvolle vervolging.

The communities response to this petition was poor (just 1,846 handtekeninge) but we move on with our initiatives, campaigning and lobbying nevertheless!
