The date for a fresh inquest hearing into the death of Private Sean Benton, one of the four soldiers who died while training at Princess Royal Barracks (PRB), has been confirmed.
The first pre-inquest review hearing into the 20-year-old’s death will be heard at 2pm on Friday, June 16, at the Old Bailey.
The fresh investigation comes more than 20 years after the Pte Benton’s death, a time in which family members have tirelessly fought for answers.
Pte Benton was the first and oldest of the four soldiers who died while undergoing training at the Deepcut barracks, between 1995 and 2002.
He was found with five bullet wounds to his chest in June 1995 – one day after he was told he was to be discharged from the Army.
