A watchdog is appealing for information after a Polish man died in hospital after being detained by police. The Independent Police Complaints Commission wants to find out more about the final days of 26-year-old Rafal Delezuch, who died on 15 Sierpień.
Anyone who knew Mr Delezuch while he was living in Leicester is asked to contact the IPCC.
A post-mortem examination was inconclusive and further tests are being carried out. Investigators are trying to piece together his whereabouts and what he was doing in the weeks prior to his death.
Mr Delezuch, who had lived in Leicester for two years, was wearing a green short-sleeved shirt, beige shorts and white trainers on the day he died.
He was detained under the Mental Health Act close to the junction of Glossop Street and Osmaston Road by police who used “spray and restraints”.
He was taken directly to Leicester Royal Infirmary and died in hospital later that day.
