Billy Salton death after court transfer investigated

De Onafhankelijke Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) will investigate how a man died after being transferred from a police station to a court. Billy Salton died on 9 Juli, three days after collapsing at Stockport Magistrates Court, Greater Manchester.

The 19-year-old had received treatment from medical staff at Cheadle Heath police station before being moved. The IPCC’s Naseem Malik said the investigation wouldstrive to provide answers about what happened”.

Mr Salton handed himself into the police station voluntarily following a breach of bail conditions at about 01:00 BST on 5 Juli. He was also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

An IPCC spokesman said: “Due to Mr Salton having epilepsy, he was visited on three occasions by medical staff while in custody at Cheadle Heath.

It is recorded that while in custody he was given medication on two occasionsonce by a nurse on 5 July and again on 6 July by a custody detention officer.

    They can no longer get away with deaths in custody!!!!!
    I still don’t know how my boy died!! There will be someone to blame!!
