Pēc vairākām sūdzībām notiek pa policiju šaušana vīrietis, Neatkarīgā policijas sūdzību komisijas (IPCC) paziņoja, ka izmeklēšana ir sākusies. The 25-year-old man was shot and tasered multiple times by Met police officers in Forest Hill, south London on February 19 after officers responded to an emergency call.
Firearms officers discharged five bullets and several taser rounds into the man, who sustained abdominal, groin, hand and leg injuries.
Complaints were made regarding the Met police’s handling of the incident, subsequent actions of officers, information released to the media and community and the IPCC’s response to comments made by a Met police officer’s at a community meeting.
Police have claimed that the man, known as George, was brandishing ‘a large bladed weapon’ but campaigners and family members have said the police could have handled the matter without having to resort to extreme force.
